I lost a bit of my tongue this winter
I got very quiet, sit still,
Stare into the white space a lot.
Sometimes I read some newspapers,
And the antsy black prints hurt my mind’s peace.
The world is very, very loud right now:
I heard the geese, the squirrels, cars and trains,
Human fighting, animal biting.
I heard the snow flaks falling, too.

This winter I’ve gone into
An amazing white land of bliss.
Where every color is so vibrant with lights,
Even the vulture is in rainbow colors!
I heard music of flutes,
Flowing as the melting brooks.
Ice bumps into each other, dead grass revived,
And my heart is warm again.

This winter is indeed a good season,
And the spring is just around the corner!
Let’s breathe a little bit –
Into the cool air, with our heat, and hope.
